What NAMI Wyoming Does
NAMI Wyoming’s mission is to be a force for change in the lives of those affected by mental illness. To this
end, we provide education, support and advocacy to individuals living with mental illness and their families.
About NAMI Wyoming: Support, Education and Advocacy
NAMI Wyoming is a grassroots organization composed of nine local affiliates and more than 300
members across Wyoming. NAMI Wyoming members are individuals living with a mental illness, their
family members and other allies, such as health care professionals. NAMI is dedicated to improving
the quality of life for individuals living with mental illness and their families through education, support
and advocacy.
NAMI Wyoming started in 1985 by a group of parents discouraged by the lack of services available to
their mentally ill children. Over the last 25 years, NAMI Wyoming has grown to become the largest
organization representing adults with severe mental illnesses and their families in the State of
Wyoming.
